To explore and get deep into nature with your family and other friends is something we all put no price on for our kids. We want them to go back to basics, to do the things we used to do as children in a safe environment without the distraction of cellphones and Ipads. We want to take you and your family on an unforgettable nature experience.

The day we arrived at Buttonquail Private Nature Reserve many years ago was the day we realised the time had come for us to do something for our children, our friends and those that see life the same way we do.

The camp was in a state, it had been neglected and was starting to fall apart. It wasn’t long before some hard work started to show. Life was back in the valley on the banks of the roaring Palmiet River.

The next phase was to bring back life. It started with adult laughter and happy kids and was soon accompanied by the singing of birds and crowing of proud roosters and turkeys. We remember those days so well. The JCB thrown in for good measure, and bon fires, wow did we have bon fires!!!

The next step was to start exploring and unearthing all that this magnificent reserve had to show us. Draak se Kop was an obvious start. The dragons head towering above the fynbos landscape was a special discovery that led to more exploration. River swims, cliff jumps, trout and bass, tubing, hikes and game watching all happened in an easy flow.

What we were taught by this place will last with us forever, we not sure we even appreciate it yet but it’s there. We did the hard yards and have the T shirt, and what a beautfilu shirt it is.

Almost anything is possible in this sanctuary so if you yearning for a fully inclusive family experience away from all the noice of the city get in touch and lets see how we can help make it happen.
